Go Fetch
This project was to rebuild our online survey application (Go Fetch) from scratch. Heliocell contracted in Natalie from Decisive Flow to design the UI to give Go Fetch a fresh new look and make it easy to use.
As I specialise in HTML/CSS I took Natalie's designs and converted them to static html pages and styled them accordingly. From there my work was then passed onto the developer. As we progressed with the application we no longer needed Natalie's assistance as I had enough knowledge of the applications overall look and feel. I then took over as the lead designer for new pages.
As this was my first time working on an application I learnt a lot about thinking ahead. Every style choice I made had to be thought through throughly.
An example of this is the status screenshot above. I had to put a title and a couple of buttons under each title and somehow draw the users eye to those buttons. The plan was to make minimal information appear eye catching. Originally I had created three equal sixed boxes inline each with their respective title, icon and buttons but the problem was it looked too compressed. So we took another approach and gave each section a full width box. The problem we have with this was un-necessary whitespace. Eventually we filled in the whitespace with instructional text and this made the boxes more eye catching.
